Twin harbors is the name of an island in the north west of Maxwell.
This particular adventure started in the town of Royalport. Generally, the word royal is a clue that there is a monarchy somewhere. In this case we have a very weak monarchy and a ruling council of lords.
This is but one of the polities on the island. To the south west is a very strongly held semi-theocracy based on the worship of the ruler. Each of the rulers is named Sedmon, and the current Sedmon VIII is also occasionally referred to as Sedmon of the eight lives.
In the south of the island there is a country which is ruled by a city state. Our heros don't know much about this, but at once point had decided to go there and seek passage to Sankar. To the east of this is a wide grassland with a semi-nomadic tribal society.
The center and eastern coast of the island do not appear to have any organized force governing them. It seems that civilizaton on Twin Harbors started in the port towns and is spreading inland.
As things have progressed, there has been a lot of activity in the Twin Harbors North Peninsula area
